11 Apr 4tiitoo honors innovative natural interaction idea with a special NUI prize at Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016
At the German national finals of the Imagine Cup on April 7, 2016 nine teams presented their app ideas in the three categories Innovation, World Citizenship and Games. As member of the jury Tore Meyer, CEO of 4tiitoo GmbH, found it hard to choose a winner out of the three excellent ideas in the category Innovation.
In the end project Gabr won in this category, an app idea to improve daily communication as an alternative to todays widespread use of written communication. While project HandWatcher came in second, 4tiitoo found the idea worth awarding with the special prize.
With a Microsoft band, tracking armband with built-in accelerometer sensors, HandWatcher tracks and analyzes hand movement and usage (e.g. opening a doorknob or washing hands) and recognizes as well as notifies, when hands should better be washed again. This could be extremely helpful in sensitive environments, like hospitals. This is a great example for NUI sensor based use cases that really help people in their daily lives.
